The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway in Palm Springs, California, is the largest rotating aerial tramway in the world. It was opened in September 1963 as a way of getting from the floor of the Coachella Valley to near the top of San Jacinto Peak which is the highest peak of the San Jacinto Mountains, and of Riverside County, California. It lies within Mount San Jacinto State Park. It’s such a drastic change when you disembark from the cable car about 8,500 feet (about 2,592 meters) in the air! Below you is hot, dry desert, but then the temperature drops by 30 degrees at the top and you have beautiful lush forest surrounding you! Much of it is preserved as pure wilderness so there’s no human development whatsoever, just unspoiled nature for everyone to enjoy! Adnan Karim video.
