Moussaka the dish of my childhood. My mother made moussaka at least 2-3 times in a month and we loved it madly. Moussaka from the Balkans has nothing to do with the original from Greece, because it is quicker and easier to prepare and does not require even a part of the ingredients like Greek. The main ingredients are potatoes, onions and meat and a topping of eggs and sour cream. Trust me that’s enough for happiness. And the best is the top layer of cheese. It’s not exactly according to a traditional recipe but whoever tried it like this never left out the cheese again.
