Common Loon – Gavia Immer Song

Common Loon is a bird of the Gaviidae family, which occurs in rivers and lakes in the Northern Hemisphere. It is about 90 cm. long and can dive up to 50 meters deep. Your image appears on Canadian dollar coins.
It is a monotypic species, with no subspecies known. Makes loud sounds.
The scientific name of this species is: Gavia immer.
