Britomart railway station is location at the bottom end of Quay Street, in Auckland city CBD.
Construction of Britomart commenced in October 2001.
The station opened to passengers on 7 July 2003, with the official opening on 25 July 2003 by Sir Edmund Hillary and government ministers
There is General Post Office building. Which was built in 1911, this has the entrance to the Queen Street railway station to the right. Britomart station is directly underneath.
And has a NZ4 million price tag to complete.
There is going to be an extension added to this underground station in the nearest future. To avoid any delays from switching to one train to the other. They are going to create a complete loop within the railway network.
